Contrary to popular opinion, innovation doesn’t occur in some Palo Alto garage with a bunch of 20-something college dropouts. Nor are “ideas” innovative. Ideas are just ideas. Garage startups are just a group of sweaty kids in…a garage. Innovation takes effort.
Such fables, while romantic, insufficiently explain how innovation occurs - real, progressive, needle-moving innovation that pushes civilization forward to a better/cheaper/faster future.
